Distinguished ladies & Gentlemen,
It is an honor indeed for me to stand before you today on behalf of my Board of Directors, the management and entire staff of Falcon Petroleum Limited to receive this distinguished award from the Institute for Government Research & Leadership Technology for the Best Gas Pipeline Construction, Distribution & Equipment Conversion Services Company of the year 2013.
It is with every sense of humility and acknowledgement of the glory and faithfulness of God who has continually blessed our efforts that I say that this award is further affirmation and attestation to the impact and achievements of our company over the past few years.
We have applied ourselves diligently and steadfastly towards the delivery of quality and safe operations and a commitment to engineering excellence in our various service offerings.
We started out over 19 years ago with nothing more than a desire to make a visible difference in the largely foreign and multinational dominated oil and gas industry landscape, and a firmly held conviction that if we applied ourselves diligently and with God on our side, we would succeed. Despite our resource insufficiencies of the early years, we have applied ourselves diligently and steadfastly towards the delivery of quality and safe operations and a commitment to engineering excellence in our various service offerings.
Today however, we are able to hold ourselves as a clear force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry. We are responsible for over 80% of the internal Natural Gas pipeline reticulation projects within Lagos, Agbara, Ota and Aba; including the equipment modification to enable the industries utilize gas within their facilities. Since receiving our operational license as an LDC in 2005, we have invested significantly in the Ikorodu Natural Gas Distribution Zone.
Over the past 8 years, we have put in place several kilometers of gas pipelines and supporting distribution infrastructure at our City Gate Station in Ikorodu area and environs, and through which we deliver several million standard cubic feet of gas to a myriad of industrial users daily. Not resting on our oars, we continue to make strides towards enabling gas distribution in other States of the country.
At Falcon Petroleum Limited, we view our operations within the Ikorodu gas franchise as a full national developmental assignment and an opportunity to make significant contributions towards the full industrialization of our great nation Nigeria.
We are particularly proud of the fact that we have always been and continue to be a 100% wholly indigenous company. We view ourselves as a testament of the greatness and potential that lies in every Nigerian and what is possible when average Nigerians come together in commitment to an ideal and in complete focus and dedication towards making tangible positive impact on our nation and economy.
Our ISO 9001:2008 Quality certification is a major validation of our consistency and commitment to quality in everything that we do;
It has been a long journey with many very interesting learning curves and difficulties, but driven by our collective passions, vision and focus. Our ISO 9001:2008 Quality certification is a major validation of our consistency and commitment to quality in everything that we do; and this award today further serves to give us the confidence that we are on the right path.
God helping us, we intend to make our mark in every sphere of economy and industry where Natural Gas can add value. One of the platforms through which we are doing this and which we are quite excited about, is the establishment of an in-country fabrication yard where we will be assembling first, and later manufacturing gas metering and regulating stations and equipment for the African market. Our aim is to consolidate on the platform given for local content development and much better we can facilitate the transfer of key technological competencies and skills into the Nigerian market.
Once again, I would like to thank the entire management and staff of the Institute for Government Research & Leadership Technology for this award, and for their unrelenting and transparent efforts in recognizing and promoting our indigenous firms who, against all odd, are committed to this great nation and people. May God bless you and reward your efforts.
